J.T. Brookes & Co. has been established as a funeral directors in Brierley Hill for over 100 years now. Located on Mount Pleasant in Quarry Bank (opposite the school), it has serviced the local community and along with Higgs & Co. solicitors and Bathams Brewery, is one of the oldest, most established companies in the Black Country.
It’s appearance has changed slightly over the years, with its role now as the head office for N E Downing (Blackheath) Ltd. It also incorporates other old Funeral Directors from the local area including L.C. Pearson of Holly Hall and Wheeler Bros. of Brierley Hill.

When a family wish for us to cremate the deceased without any service or anyone present. This service includes our time, coffin, removal (within a 15 mile radius), cremation fee and doctors fee (if applicable).

From This Office
From this office all funeral arrangements can be made with more than adequate parking on site. It is also home to our Memorials in Stone business, which can arrange for the erection of new memorials or the renovation or cleaning of an existing grave. Other services available include the Chapels of Rest, the ordering of any floral arrangements, printing for order of service and advice with catering should it be required after a funeral.
