Memorials in Stone was established as a sister company to NE Downing (Blackheath) Ltd with the aim of providing Monumental Masonry advice to families as well as the arranging of all other funeral matters. Originally outsourced, we are now able to look after all your requirements, ranging from the purchase of a new grave or ashes stone, including any inscription or illustration a family might want, to the renovation of an existing family grave.

Everybody’s requirements differ and the various regulations concerning a stone, be its shape, size and colour allowed in cemeteries and church graveyards around the area make it difficult to cover everything on this one page. Based at J T Brookes in Quarry Bank, we have a showroom allowing you to look at just some of the wide-ranging stones available to choose from. While doing this, we can also advise you as to how it can be inscribed, cleaned or renovated.
